An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world-leading global organisation. Our client, a leading, global FMCG company with brands such as PG Tips, Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum, are currently looking to recruit a Communications and Issues Manager

Description:

  • This role involves two main parts: communication within the company and handling corporate issues.
  • The communication part includes working closely with the Communications and Corporate Affairs team and the R&D Personal Care team.
  • In the first half, you’ll assist the Communications and Corporate Affairs team by managing issues, doing administrative work, coordinating tasks, preparing documents, and tracking important matters within the company. This requires attention to detail and the ability to understand complex topics.
  • You’ll also maintain internal SharePoint sites and keep track of approvals from senior-level executives on policies. Additionally, you’ll help write statements and Q&A documents.
  • In the second half, you’ll focus on supporting the R&D Personal Care Leadership Team with their internal communication needs.
  • The role requires at least 2 years of experience in internal communications, and it’s not suited for someone with over 10 years of experience.

Additional Information:

  • You’ll spend two days a week working on-site, mainly on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • They’re looking for candidates with a background in communications, not marketing.
  • The role is a 50/50 split between communications and corporate affairs and internal communications for R&D Personal Care.
  • You should have experience in internal communications, be calm under pressure, and able to adapt.
  • Ideal backgrounds include personal care brands, FMCG, innovation, or tech, rather than housing or energy industries.
  • Experience with content creation software and digital channels is important.
  • Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Poppulo is a plus.
  • International experience or dealing with global teams is beneficial due to interaction with global teams in R&D.
  • You’ll work closely with functional communications teams and report to the Senior Corporate Affairs & Issue Manager.

In a nutshell, they’re seeking someone with a strong background in internal communications, who can handle complex issues, work well in a team, and has experience with content creation tools and digital channels. They prefer candidates with a background in personal care brands, FMCG, innovation, or tech.
